100% of your donation goes directly to flood relief efforts. We have no paid staff - every person working on this effort is a volunteer. Funds are used for emergency food, clean water, temporary shelter, medical supplies, and household recovery items.

Yes. We are a volunteer-led humanitarian initiative with full transparency. Every expense is documented and shared publicly on our transparency page. We work with verified local partners on the ground in Iraqi Kurdistan.

Damage assessment ongoing

Over 500 homes and 100 businesses have been damaged across affected areas. Nine schools, public offices, and a historic library were flooded or destroyed. Major roads and bridges remain damaged or closed, and water treatment facilities have been disrupted.

Severe flash floods strike Kurdistan

Beginning December 9-10, severe flash floods struck the Kurdistan Region following intense rainfall. Chamchamal received approximately 81mm in 24 hours. Barzanja and Chwarta recorded up to 145-149mm. Takiya received over 170mm. At least 5 people were killed and more than 12 injured. Worst-affected areas include Chamchamal, Sulaimani, Kalar, Garmiyan, Bazian, and Kirkuk.
